Welcome
Several Toronto area camera clubs are working together to host the Canadian Camera Conference 2006 - scheduled for Friday, July 14 - Sunday, July 16, 2006 in downtown Toronto. We would like to invite all of you to join us for SUMMER IN THE CITY.
Toronto is a great city to visit in the summertime and we hope CAPA members from across the country will join us for a fabulous weekend. If you are able to bring your family with you - the only problem you should have is deciding which Toronto area attractions to visit!

We will have notable speakers from Canada and the U.S. presenting a variety of educational and entertaining photography. Our speakers will present creative ideas, techniques and tips for us.
CCC'06 will be held at 89 Chestnut Street a conference facility operated by the University of Toronto. Located in the heart of the downtown city centre directly behind Nathan Philips Square this former hotel provides great accommodation and meeting areas.
We intend to feature a special participants' photo competition: registered conference attendees will have the opportunity to submit up to 3 images in an open competition. In addition to workshops and outings preceding and following the conference dates, outings are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday morning to take advantage of early light in the City.
Our Friday night social gathering will be held in the Lakeview Room on the 27th Floor of 89 Chestnut with wonderful night views of the city skyline. The Saturday Tech-Show will highlight many camera retailers and manufacturers.
One of the great things about CAPA conferences are the many people you see again each year, year after year. We encourage you to take advantage of the common areas on each floor of the hotel space (adjacent to the elevators) as an extra place to socialize. If several members of a camera club are attending the conference they can ask to be grouped together on one floor in order to take advantage of this gathering point.
Tourism Toronto has promised to provide special discount coupons to numerous Toronto area attractions and restaurants. Participants and their families will be able to take advantage of these special offers - so plan for more than just the weekend.
We hope you'll join us for what is sure to be another great CCC event. The host committee working together are members of the Greater Toronto Council of Camera Clubs including Toronto Guild for Photographic Art, Mississauga Camera Club, Richmond Hill Camera Club and the Chinese Canadian Photographic Society.
