The GTCCC manages two different insurance programs, one for member clubs and one for individuals who are members of GTCCC member clubs.
Clubs that are members of the GTCCC can participate in the Council's insurance policy to cover Personal Liability and Property Damage. Member clubs can choose their particular participation based on their own assets (club-owned equipment, etc.) and activities (meeting space, field trips, etc.). A key part of the policy is the Personal Liability provision that insures the club, and its executive, against claims that might arise from injury to an individual while participating in a club-sponsored activity. The Tenants Liability provision insures the club against damages that could be caused by the club to rented premises. Clubs that exhibit in public spaces such as shopping malls have the Personal Liability insurance coverage usually required by mall operators.
Individuals who are members of camera clubs that are members of the GTCCC, can participate in the GTCCC Group Home & Auto Insurance program. This program enables individuals to receive the cost benefits of Group Insurance rates when insuring their dwelling place and contents and/or their automobile. Depending on individual circumstances, these savings may be in the range of 20% annually. Special provision is made for insuring personal photographic equipment (for non-professional use) as a rider to Home insurance. The cost of this rider can be significantly less than that offered by most insurers not familiar with photographic equipment.
Both insurance programs are underwritten by ING Novex. The broker is Hardiman, Mount and Associates (HMA) in Whitby.
Clubs and individuals with memberships that qualify them for these insurance programs can contact HMA at
Questions regarding eligibility to participate in these programs can also be directed to the GTCCC Acting Chair, Insurance. At the present time this is Donald Crump, who can be reached at
